Julia Collman, MS, LMHC
Julia is the proud owner of Desie's Place. The name derived from her deceased mother "Desie." She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven; And went on to earn her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Mercy College. Julia comes to you with a background in healthcare, having served as a nurse in the hospitals, nursing homes, incarcerated, homecare and hospice. Losing both of her parents at an early age, plus her background as a nurse she can understand the loss of a loved one. Losing one of her brother to gun violence and her own near death experience being hit by a car, has taught her firsthand about trauma; A few screws and plate is a daily reminder about her near death experience. As a clinician Julia has experience across a variety of treatment settings such as inpatient hospital mental health/substance abuse, community mental health, juvenile justice system and crisis intervention.
Julia's passion and specialty lies in:
